The approach

This may have been one of the longest approaches to a climb ever! Peter and Tom were taught the basics of offshore sailing by Clive, on passage from Montreal to St. John’s, Newfoundland, where they met Angela. This was good preparation for a hectic passage across a gale-ridden Labrador Sea, partly captured in our video. Having reached Greenland, we had to link up with Ian and Jacob, waiting for us in Ilulissat. The ice in Disko Bay thwarted that rendezvous, but thanks to some hitch-hiking with seal hunters we finally assembled as a team in Aasiaat on 17 July.
